Lime Pits, Hampshire

The site forms part of the Basingstoke Canal Heritage Footpath Trail, running across Basingstoke common and finishing at Basing House. It follows a route rich in wildlife and cultural heritage. There are parks situated throughout. Its a vast area with beautiful plantation and Walking trails. Free car park and close to the town. There is small play area for kids and walking trails takes you to Black dam pond. Crabtree Plantation is an important and popular public open space on the eastern edge of Basingstoke (off the A30, near The Hatch, Old Basing). Used by walkers, dog owners, cyclists, and kite fliers alike, the grassland and woodland is much enjoyed by the people of Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.
