Ogmore-by-Sea, Glamorgan

A peaceful, year round dog friendly walking spot. Clean beach with lots of rock pools to explore and plenty of sand to zoom around on. Car parking, toilet block and sometimes a snack van and ice cream van. Get down to the beach by climbing down over the rocks, or walk towards the lifeguard building and walk down the concrete ramp to the beach. At low tide, cross the river on the beach to visit Merthyr Mawr with sand dunes and another massive expanse of sand for running and rolling on. Visit the amazing Ogmore castle ruins just up the road and take a dip in the river - there's stepping stones for humans! A few cafes and a dog friendly pub are on the approach to the car park - lovely for a break and a bowl of water.
