Cod Beck Reservoir, North Yorkshire

A great walk for dogs of all ages. You can walk around the reservoir which takes around 40 miles with a distances of 1.5 miles. It’s got nice flat pathways and is a nice circular route. The reservoir circular route is gated so it’s nice and secure with many dogs off their lead. Great for puppies who can’t walk far. Good opportunity for dogs to have a swim or learn to swim in shallower waters with waves or a current. You can also extend the walk by going further through the moors and woodlands which will take a couple of hours. There is usually an icecream van in the car park for a treat! You can also visit the village of Osmotherley afterwards for a drink and some food! Parking is free throughout the reservoir car park and the village! Just be mindful not to park on the grass verges as you will get a ticket! And to keep your dog on a lead, until you go through the gate as there are sheep and cattle within the moors surrounding the car park.
